When people don't know better, they make mistakes or they continue old, hurtful, patterns. It's up to folks like you to make them contemplate what language they use and what that language really signifies. Perhaps if we pointed it out to them in direct ways, then they might even, wait for it now...begin to understand the racist origins of so many things they say without thinking and wonder how such expressions made their way into our daily discourse. Your article deserves to be read more widely. Thank you..
