White "adjacency," in either hue or headspace, is a terrible thing. Being white is so desirable that people who are light brown are encouraged to "join the winning team," and they're happy to do so. I can't conceive of black people who can still consider themselves Republicans, much less be Trump supporters. What in the world has happened in their world that they can deny their own pasts and the pasts of their people?

Let's not forget the increasing number of black men who voted for Trump from 2016 to 2020. What qualities of Trump do they so admire (swagger, misogyny, shamelessness) that they would endanger us?
