"White" Europeans have allowed other groups into "whiteness" when it has been to their advantage to do so. That is why "white adjacency" is such a big deal nowadays. If "white" people feel threatened that there aren't enough of them, then they will "gift" fairer-skinned brown ethnics with the privilege of whiteness, which is so profoundly advantageous, that those people will gladly take it.
