White privilege only goes so far compared to rich white privilege, but it is useful nonetheless. As you pointed out, most of these perpetrators (caught on film!) received half of the recommended sentences. Had they been black, they would have gotten much more. In fact, had they been black, they would not have been allowed to walk down the steps of the Capitol to waiting buses and airplanes. Their first stop would have been the hospital; their second, prison.
