Why does Buttigieg need to show us "the whole picture?" The whole picture of what, exactly? I know, as a transit nerd, that any type of commercial train or air accident, no matter how minor, is IMMEDIATELY investigated by a team from the National Transportation Safety Board. I'm also pretty sure that OSHA, the materials manufacturer, and any agencies having to do with toxic chemicals are also on the scene. Buttigieg doesn't need to show up himself. That's why agencies have specialist employees.

One of the issues I have with Lauren Elizabeth is that she seems too eager to criticize without providing any evidence of what she's talking about. Look at some of her other writings to see how frequently she criticizes someone using what are personal, but not professional, attacks. It has been, what, about a week since the train accident? Does she really know the stance that Buttigieg is taking on future safety issues? I don't know. I'm just asking. Does she say WHY Buttigieg is incompetent? Is she a transportation analyst? Do most people even know (or care) what the Dept. of Transportation does generally? So, I ask again, what is "the whole picture" that we think we deserve, and once we have it, what are WE going to do with it?
