Years ago, at the long-publicized death of JonBenet Ramsay, I marveled that parents allowed their single-digit girls, just out of kindergarten, engage in activities that encouraged them to dress and look like young adults.
Of course, ours isn't the only one that encouorages young girls to be "sexy," but it's dangerous wherever it takes place. Not only should young girls not compare themselves to impossible beauty standards, but they should also not look at themselves as adultified sex objects. We don't need to hide under hijabs, but we have a lot to learn.
