Yes, the media gave Trump a boost he didn't deserve because his outrageous antics were good for ratings. However, the "REAL" reason that Donald Trump became president is because at least 17 conceited people, most of whom had no qualifications for being president insisted on participating in presidential primaries. Most of these were people most voters had never heard of, so given the choice among a bunch of names on a ballot you don't know and Donald Trump, you select Donald Trump "because I've heard of him."

Let's not let American people off the hook for not knowing enough about the Electoral System, being swayed by fame and supposed wealth, and hiding their racism (that's right, it was in there) by claiming to support Trump for other, vague and unsupportable reasons.

The media didn't help. We all need to learn that, unfortunately, a lie repeated is a lie remembered. However, our own gullibility and desire for sensationalism are not the mainstream media's fault.
