Yes, there are children of privilege who are going to have more than other children. HOWEVER, letting a child (she's still a child) bid $84,000 on anything doesn't make sense to me. One of the lessons parents need to give children is the real value of money, what it represents, and what one's financial circumstances mean relative to other people's financial circumstances. Did/does Blue Ivy know what $84,000 means?
I appreciate the desire to "spoil" one's children. If I had children, then I would probably indulge them, but I also want them to know that having a great deal of money is a privilege that not everyone has and I would still want them to know the difference between wants and needs.
This isn't just an issue for me with Jay-Z and Beyonce. It's my issue with ANY celebrity who spends ridiculous amonts of money on their children. Yes, it's their money. They get to choose how to spend it. However, they're also supposed to be preparing their children to live in the real world; the world that the rest of us live in. Sure, they have responsibilities to themselves, but they have a responsibility to society as well.
