You are ignoring the ample evidence out there that Russia, in fact, did interfere in the 2016 elections, generally through disinformation on social media platforms. The media absolutely gave Trump a free ride by broadcasting his every stupid moment, but that does not discount that Russian interference was in play. In fact, Putin managed to do in America what he's doing in Ukraine. He didn't need to fire a single shot. He helped get some really dumb Americans to do it for him.
