You have told the story of my entire working life. You're supposed to be smart enough to do the job well (and look cute while doing it) but you're not supposed to be so smart that you show up white people. Super-competence is a threat in black people. Damned if we are, and damned if we aren't. I had tears in my eyes after reading this.
