You must be aware of how abhorrent it is for white people to have to suffer smart black people. White people want to believe they are smarter than Tyson, but the fact that he is makes them resent him and use him as an example. Nothing gets a white man's ire up like a smart black man, so National Review usesd him to amp up their sales.

Think about it. The National Review could have used Rachel Maddow; Oxford Ph.D., gay, own t.v. show, publications, etc., but even a tall, gay woman doesn't have the impact of a black man. It wasn't a compliment.
