You're going to make some enemies with this post, but you know that already. I agree that somehow or other, we've convinced ourselves that good health doesn't matter and that looking "healthy" means having more curves than we should. We're not trying to promote the flat front and back look; our bodies aren't fashioned that way. However, we don't need to be overweight to the degree that we are.

There is nothing wrong with pointing out that the sometimes ridiculous amounts of money and attention we give to hair, nails, and clothing would be better spent on fitness. Making it about looks is a mistake. It's good health and older age without maladies that should be our true goals. Thanks for writing.
